Drie toverijprocessen tonen waar 'stovenaars's zoal van werden beschuldigd en hoe bekentenissen werden afgedwongen. Rechtsgeleerden protesteerden hiertegen: alleen bij voldoende bewijs mocht tortuur plaatsvinden. Dat was er nooit en aangezien de doodstraf niet mocht worden opgelegd zonder bekentenis, werd vervolging zinloos.
